“What a great day out! It wouldn’t be Christmas without ice skating”
THE PRESS, YORK

The Ice Factor, York’s open air ice rink returns for its third successive year from 17 November 2007 until 6 January 2008.
Set against the spectacular backdrop of Clifford’s Tower in the centre of York, and framed by the Castle Museum and the Law Courts, the 600 sq m rink of real ice enjoys one of the most picturesque settings in the country for outdoor skating.
The Ice Factor is made all the more festive with York’s biggest Christmas tree, log cabins, theatrical lighting and the oak tree in the centre of the rink sparkling with fairy lights. There is also a public viewing area and a heated skate hire marquee.
Selected as one of the Top 10 Christmas Ice Rinks nationwide
by The Sun and The Guardian
The Ice Factor is not just an ice rink! The heated rinkside Ice Bar & Café is open to the public with free admission and is glass-fronted so you can watch the fun outside. Offering an extensive menu of hot and cold food and drinks from 10am until 10pm, and with contemporary black and silver décor, the Ice Bar & Café is the hot spot in York for a Christmas drink.
Once again, Minster FM will be setting the scene both inside the Ice Bar & Café and out on the rink with special compilations of popular hits, to get the skaters dancing on ice.
And this winter The Ice Factor looks set to be the talked about event of the festive season once again, whether for office parties, birthday parties, school outings, hen do’s, holiday treats, family fun or a romantic night under the stars.
